The safety of our toys has always been a priority for us. Over the past two years we have altered the design, materials, and stains used to ensure that each toy is safe for children to play with. We send each style of toy to an independent testing facility to ensure each toy meets safety requirements.
All parts of each toy have been safety approved - ASTM F963-23, 16 CFR 1500 standard in the USA and SOR/2011-17 in Canada. For example, the ear and tail attachments have undergone push and pull tests (Compression, Tension, and Torque testing). The stain and clear coat have undergone chemical testing (Heavy Metals and Phthalates). The shape, size and design of each toy have undergone physical and mechanical testing (Drop test, Material Quality, Sharp Points).
We intend for our toys to be passed down for generations, therefore we value the quality and craftsmanship of our toys. We use natural materials such as Canadian maple hardwood, 100% cotton, and non-toxic, natural based oil and wax stains and clear coats. Each toy is handcrafted in small batches, allowing us to focus on the small details to maintain the highest level of quality. Our simplistic, timeless designs promote imaginative, creative play.
As each toy is hand crafted from beginning to end, this means that there may be slight variations between each toy. These are not defects in our mind, rather we view each toy having its own unique, one of a kind character and charm. As the materials that we use are natural and all the steps are completed by our own two hands, some of the variations could include the following:
- Wood grain and color
- Shapes, lengths, and placement of ears and tails
- Placement of wood burned details (ie. eyes, logo, paws, etc)
- Design and translucency of the stain
